LATX represents a pioneering leap towards sustainability, offering a circular material alternative that not only emulates but potentially surpasses the qualities of animal leather.

Designed to meet the demands of both indoor and outdoor use, LATX stands as a testament to innovation in material science and eco-conscious craftsmanship.

At the heart of LATX lies a commitment to preserving traditional knowledge for a brighter future. Through collaboration with the last remaining artisanal latex coaters in Mexico - Mangas El Compita, we honor the rich heritage of craftsmanship while paving the way for a more sustainable tomorrow.

Experience the elegance and durability of LATX – where tradition meets innovation.

    MATERIAL RESEARCH & SUSTAINABILITY

Certified Rubber

Ethically and sustainably grown in Oaxaca - Mexico, our latex is hand-harvested and further processed within a small local community. For our latex production, we harvest milk from the Hevea Brasiliensis tree, which allows the production of high-grade latex.

Sustainable Textiles

At the moment, we are concentrating on sustainably produced cotton and linen textiles. In the near future, new fibre combinations will lead to further innovative materials.

Natural Colours

Ethically and sustainably forged in Mexico, our LATX is infused with natural colourants. We use mineral and organic pigments to create our vibrante palette of colours, shades and tones.

Fair Production

At the moment, we are focusing on implementing a handmade production of LATX. In the near future, we plan to transform the scale of producing LATX to industrial context as well, inspired by the traditional craft.

“LATX: More than a material!“

It is also a multidisciplinary - cross-cultural investigation & research on traditional techniques based on natural rubber, natural pigments and textiles. Currently, we are in the process of developing the LATX - Material Compendium, aiming to create added value not only for artists, designers, but all of us.
