HeveaHub is a multidisciplinary, cross-cultural research initiative focused on traditional techniques involving natural rubber and their implementation in contemporary art and design contexts.

HeveaHub is a transdisciplinary space where art, design, ecology, and community practices meet.
It cultivates collaboration and shared authorship among artists, researchers, and makers from different territories, acknowledging diverse ways of knowing and creating.

Instead of pursuing only material results, HeveaHub engages making as a situated practice — one that listens, responds, and moves through multiple cultural, social, and ecological contexts.
Emerging across Brazil, Mexico, and Switzerland, it evolves as a living process of co-creation, where art and research unfold through relation, encounter, and transformation.

Founded by Alex Amir Khan and Katia Fagundes in 2025, HeveaHub grew out of sustained collaborations between these regions and their shared research into natural rubber and its social, ecological, and cultural dimensions.

It continues to expand as an open network for exchange, experimentation, and situated dialogue.

Artwork, Products and Collaborations

“HeveaHub is more than material!“

It is also a multidisciplinary - cross-cultural investigation & research on traditional techniques based on natural rubber, natural pigments and textiles. Currently, we are in the process of developing the LATX - Material Compendium, aiming to create added value not only for artists, designers, but all of us.
