LATX | Rubberised Textiles is a perfect alternative to conventional faux leather thanks to its versatile applications in both indoor and outdoor settings. This biomaterial is available in various qualities and finishes. A textile base (woven, knitted or non-woven) is coated with natural latex, making it water-repellent and giving it a leather-like surface. The latex coating can also be applied on both sides of the textile. - learn more

LATX | Rubberised Threads are cotton yarns and cords coated with natural latex. Ideal for further applications in design and art contexts, these threads can be produced in a wide range of diameters—from 1 mm to over 500 mm. The threads can also be further woven, knitted, or used to enhance and finish surfaces. - learn more

LATX | Rubber Sheets are made from 100% natural rubber. They can be produced in various sizes and possesses similar properties to animal leather, making them suitable for comparable processing and applications. This biomaterial can be manufactured in thicknesses ranging from 1 to 10 mm. In addition, plant-based additives such as fibers can be incorporated to tailor the material properties according to the requirements of the final product. - learn more
Certified Rubber
Ethically and sustainably grown in Oaxaca - Mexico or direct from the wild tree on the island Cotijuba - Brazil, our latex is hand-harvested and further processed within a small local community. For our latex production, our partners harvest milk from the Hevea Brasiliensis tree, which allows the production of high-grade latex.
Sustainable Textiles
At the moment, we are concentrating on sustainably produced cotton-based textiles. In the near future, new fibre combinations will lead to further innovative materials.
Natural Colours
Ethically and sustainably forged in Mexico, our LATX is infused with natural colourants. We use mineral and organic pigments to create our vibrante palette of colours, shades and tones.
Fair Production
We are focusing on implementing a handmade production of LATX. In the near future, we plan to transform the scale of producing LATX to industrial contexts as well, inspired by the traditional craft.

“LATX: More than a material!“
It is also a multidisciplinary - cross-cultural investigation & research on traditional techniques based on natural rubber, natural pigments and textiles. Currently, we are in the process of developing the LATX - Material Compendium, aiming to create added value not only for artists, designers, but all of us.
