The act of coating textiles with liquid latex requires full physical effort and takes place in the blazing sun. The physical exertion and the sun put Khan in a state of flow, which he uses to express his creativity. With great respect for the traditional craft Khan learned under the masters Augustin Ortiz and Marco Gonzalez in Misantla Veracruz-Mexico, Khan will hold such a performance in the garden of Villa Renata. The focus will be on the process and over two weekends a series of works will be created that are dedicated to the villa and its garden. Khan will be inspired by his surroundings, using pigments collected from his travels in Switzerland, Mexico and Guatemala. In addition, pigments are used which were refined in collaboration with Andreas Etter.
