Indiennes Neuchateloise

As part of the MAHN Museum Neuchatel, an exhibition was staged that revolves around the theme of the Indiennes of Neuchatel. Products were created for this exhibition, which could then be purchased in the museum shop. - Photo: Noemie Gygax | Benoit Jeannet

Inspiration and Transformation

The old should be upheld and a language found that modernises the character of the Indiennes but does not completely alienate it. I came across exciting sources of inspiration that date back to the same time as the Indiennes.
Indian Tantra art from the 17th century helps me to plan the colour scheme of my collection. For my colour worlds, I will draw new color interpretations from these paintings, which I will then use as colour worlds for my designs. The reduced form of the Indian paintings makes the colours work and reminds us of our European Bauhaus style.

The Products

My goal would be to create a coherent collection that appeals to a contemporary clientele, young and old. I see my prints mainly on paper: as wrapping paper, stationery, notepads, notebooks, postcards or other small products made of paper.
